Broken

I'm picking up the pieces,
They're shattered on the ground.
I'm searching for you everywhere,
But you're no where to be found.
I thought that you'd be here by now,
Helping me with all this.
Now it seems like you're not coming,
And we must have shared our last kiss.
I didn't want this to happen,
I fought every battle I could.
I wanted you to stay so badly,
How foolish of me to think you would.
How we fell apart I'll never understand.
I wish that you were here tonight,
I wish you were holding my hand.
But alas you're not and here I lay,
This feeling of solitude so foreign to me,
Waiting to comprehend and believe that
You and I simply were not meant to be.
